“I don’t know how I’m supposed to see my friends with a straight face.”

Finn and I are standing in the kitchen. I’m drinking orange juice and him coffee. Even though we crossed friendship lines last night, it hasn’t been awkward this morning. It’s comfortable, as if waking up in each other’s arms was what our future had been destined to be.

Finn winks at me. “Why’s that?” The smirk on his face confirms he knows exactly why.

I bring my cup to my lips, smiling and speaking inside it, “You gave me the best orgasm of my life. I’m going to be walking around with orgasmed-out stars in my eyes for the next month.”

He stands taller, pride on his face. “Let’s not forget your skills either.” He whistles. “I struggled not to come in seconds.”

Pride settles through me at the compliment of pleasuring him like that. I’ve never felt so sexy, so skilled, as Finn makes me. Never has a man made me feel more attractive—with the weight gain, pregnant belly, and all.

I set my cup on the counter and swallow, remembering how he tasted inside my mouth. It’s something I want to have over and over again. I read that pregnant women are horny a lot, but I’ve never wanted to taste, to kiss, to be with a man as badly as I do with Finn.

“Those words aren’t going to help me keep a straight face, mister.” I wiggle my finger in his direction.

He leans against the counter with his legs slightly open. “All you have to do is spend the morning questioning Lola about her and Silas.”

“Lola won’t mutter a word about it. You know how private she is.”

“You find anything out, you share the gossip.”

I shake my head. “If she says not to, I can’t break girl code.”

He places his hand to his chest and gasps. “Not even for …” He briefly pauses and furrows his brows. “Your guy best friend?”

I frown. “Is that what you are still? My guy best friend?”

He fixes his deep stare on me. “I’d love to say boyfriend, but I don’t want to assume anything. I’m afraid of jumping too fast and scaring you, Grace.”

“Us together doesn’t scare me.” My words are rushed out.

“You want to be mine then?” He strokes his jaw while waiting for my answer.

“I want to be your everything.”

He narrows the gap between us, grips my waist, and lifts me onto the counter. “You’ve been my everything for years.”
